Salsa (on1 & on2) Level Course Descriptions

SALSA 101- Absolute Beginner (16 Week Course)

  

For those who have never taken a salsa class or have ever danced at all, this is the class for you... We will be breaking down all of the basics from the very first steps forward...  Preparing you for Salsa 102 and getting your feet wet on the dance floor!

 

SALSA 102- Beginner (16 Week Course)

  

For those who have already taken Salsa 101 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. (If you know the moves but not by the names, come in and we will place you in the appropriate level)

SALSA 103- Improver (16 Week Course)

  

For those who have already taken Salsa 102 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. You will become more in tune with lead/follow technique, rhythm & timing.  


SALSA 104- Improver II (16 Week Course)

  For those who have already taken Salsa 103 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. You will become more in tune with lead/follow technique, rhythm & timing.  In this level we go more in depth in the concepts taught from the previous level.

SALSA 201- Advanced Beginner I (16 Week Course)

  

For those who have already taken Salsa 104 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. This class is designed to be one of the stepping stones between beginner and intermediate dance levels. You will increase your understanding of lead/follow technique, rhytym & timing.  

SALSA 202- Advanced Beginner II (16 Week Course)

  

For those who have already taken Salsa 201 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. You will deepen your understanding of lead/follow technique, rhythm & timing as you prepare to enter into the realm of an intermediate dancer.
 

SALSA 203- Pre-Intermediate (16 Week Course)

  

For those who have already taken Salsa 202 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. You will deepen your understanding of lead/follow technique, rhythm & timing as you prepare to enter into the realm of an intermediate dancer.
 

SALSA 301- Intermediate (16 Week Course)

  

Intermediate combinations and moves, In this level, you should be able to execute the basics without having to think about your footwork.  Intermediate levels focus on continuous footwork, partnerwork patterns, combinations, styling, and continuity. 

 
 

Bachata Course Descriptions (Traditional & Urban)

TRADITIONAL BACHATA 101- Beginner (16 Week Course)

For those who have never taken a Bachata class or have ever danced at all, this is the class for you... We will be breaking down all of the Traditional basics from the very first steps forward...  Preparing you for Traditional Bachata 102 and getting your feet wet on the dance floor! In this session we will show you the following basic steps.

TRADITIONAL BACHATA 102- Beginner (16 Week Course)

For those who have already taken Traditional Bachata 101 or can demonstrate proficiency in the above set of moves. More intricate steps, different hand positions, and the incorporation of basic footwork are the focus in partnerwork, where students rotate to dance with each other. Emphasis is placed on hip-movement and smooth body movements and transitions. In this level we will cover the following steps/moves.
